Jingle Belles and Mistle-hoes – 15 December 2023, Theatre Deli, Sheffield
Review by Claire Taranaski.
As an audience member last night I felt like I was at an exclusive club that I probably shouldn’t have got into but never wanted to leave and was unable to take my eyes off the performers on stage, during the perfect show for a group of party loving friends who were looking for a fantastic alternative festive night out.
The Glitterbomb Dancers had all the moves and performed with an incredible attitude, chemistry and body confidence (which I would love to possess) with crisp choreography ranging from street and sultry all the way to tap and at its’ best during an incredible 00s dance megamix of multiple dancer and dance changes.
As an audience we were brought back into almost reality with the hilarious compere drag king Johnny the Biblical Rapper, a spoken word poet, quiz master, jar opening wannabe dancer, whose down to earth attitude helped removed any audience fear of being picked on.
Providing the comedy alongside Johnny, The Chers’ not only deserved their very own show, and made me glad I don’t like mulled wine, but also provided the Christmas elements of the evening with their sexy Santa inspired looks, until an encore where they were joined by the reindeer antelope wearing dancers that led you to wonder what came first, the inspiration for the show or Cher’s record breaking Christmas single.
Don’t miss the high energy, highly talented Glitterbomb Dancers perform Jingle Belles and Mistle-Hoes at Theatre Deli, Sheffield until Saturday 23rd December, including a parent and baby appropriate version on Wednesday 20th December.
